FAQ

  • What if my therapist is not a perfect fit?

Therapy is deeply personal, and finding the right therapist can take time. Whether you chose your provider or met with an intake specialist who recommended a match, it’s OK to switch therapists—at any time and with no questions asked. Just let us know by getting in touch.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by phone, email at info@cedartree.center, or via our online form.

Have your calendar ready, and your insurance ID (if using insurance).

TIP: It is safe to leave a voicemail message: our voicemail is secure and confidential.

  • Can I talk to someone today?

Yes! Your intake session can be scheduled to take place within 24 hours of calling, just let us know.

If you are in crisis, or know someone who is, please use these crisis resources.

  • What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer individual, couples, and family therapy for children 6+, adolescents, and adults. Our therapists use a range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, sex and relationship therapy, and more. Each therapist tailors their approach to meet your unique needs and goals.

To find out more, see a list of our therapists or contact us.

  • What should I expect during my first session?

It’s normal to feel a little nervous before your first session—many people do. Your therapist will guide the conversation, so there’s no pressure to prepare anything in advance. The first session is a chance to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask questions about your background, what brings you in, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We accept all major insurances, as well as self pay, EAPs, and FSA/HSA.

Your coverage will depend on your insurance plan, so contact your insurance company to find out more.

Our fees vary by therapist and type of session. Fees and insurance are listed in our therapists’ profiles.

We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare insurance at this time.

  • What are your hours of operation?

Our center is open Monday through Friday, from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 8am-2pm.

Virtual sessions can happen outside of that timeframe. You and your therapist can create a schedule that works best for you.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Our missed appointment and late cancellation fee is $100.

If you miss an appointment due to inclement weather, and the schools in your area are closed, you will not be charged a no-show fee.

We understand emergencies happen: your first no-show for the year is $50.

Please note: some of our therapists’ policies may differ, so it’s a good idea to check with your therapist in your first session.

  • Can I choose my therapist?

Yes—you’re welcome to browse our Our Therapists page and choose someone who feels like a good fit. But you don’t have to decide on your own. Your first session will be with an intake specialist, a therapist trained to understand your needs and help match you with the right provider.

However you find your therapist, you’re in good hands. And if it’s not the right fit, switching is easy and judgment-free.
