
Katya Brewington, M.Ed., LPC/MHSP/S, NCC, ACS is the owner and CEO of Brewington, LLC and Cedar Tree Wellness Center. She has provided counseling services to individuals, couples/families, and groups since 2003. She works with children 6 years of age and older, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is eclectic, primarily based on person-centered, family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral models. Katya specializes in trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral, marital, and parenting issues. Additionally, she has provided licensure supervision to new practitioners since 2011. Katya holds a Master’s degree in counseling from Vanderbilt University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider/Approved Supervisor in Tennessee, National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has received extensive training in working with individuals who have experienced a traumatic event and is certified by the American Red Cross to work in areas of natural disaster. Katya is a member of the American Counseling Association, Tennessee Counseling Association, Tennessee Mental Health Counselors Association, and Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators. Katya accepts private pay as well as most major behavioral health and EAP insurances.
In her previous career Katya was a college professor and translator. She is fluent in English, Bulgarian, and Russian. In her spare time, Katya and her husband John enjoy hiking, traveling, and gardening. Daughter Diana is an artist living and working in NYC.



John Simmons is the Chief Operations Officer of Cedar Tree Wellness Center. He plans, directs, and oversees the center’s operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals and helps the organization execute long-term and short-term plans and directives. Additionally, he manages the building and its computer and network infrastructure. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and has done graduate work in business information systems at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He has decades of experience in software development, technical writing, and management in fields as diverse as iPhone and Mac app development, music industry performance rights applications, telecommunications, systems control, audio applications, and more. John has been an amateur photographer since childhood, enjoys reading novels and physics-oriented books of all kinds, and enjoys hiking and gardening.

Jill and Razaw are the heart and soul of our center. They are the first people clients encounter when they call for services and they run the everyday operations such as scheduling, billing, and overall keeping the office running.

Jill holds a Junior College degree and has over 20 years of experience in medical billing, customer service, and account management. Jill has been with Cedar Tree Wellness Center since January 2021. She is the comforting voice on the phone and the inviting smile you see when you first enter the lobby. Jill finds a lot of joy in being able to match each client with the best therapist for their case. In her spare time Jill enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Razaw holds an associate degree in Computer Information Systems from Nashville State Community College. She has experience in teaching computers and English, customer service/administration, and in sales as a cashier and a supervisor. Razaw is fluent in English, Kurdish, and Arabic. She has lived in Nashville for more than 20 years and likes to volunteer on her days off for an organization that supports the local Kurdish American community. Razaw loves spending time with her husband and 3 wonderful sons as well as swimming and biking.
